SALEM, Mass.- Host Salem State swept a college softball doubleheader by defeating the University of Southern Maine Huskies 4-0 in game one and 7-4 in the nightcap Tuesday.

Colleen Donavan tossed a complete game four-hitter for the Vikings in game one. Karen Obey tripled in two runs in the first inning to provide all the offense Salem State needed. Dawn Leary and Lauren Seirpoli were repeat hitters for Salem State. Tracey Roberts took the loss for the Huskies from Gorham.

In game two, Anne Monti smashed a two-run single in the first and added a two-run triple in the third as Salem State (6-1) jumped out to a 6-1 lead en route to the win. Joanne Dooley was the winning pitcher. Lisa Farr homered for 5-4 USM in the fourth inning. Stacey Marotta added a two-run double. Michelle Beaulieu suffered the loss for the Huskies.
