GORHAM – Jim DiMillo cracked a triple and two singles, spearheading an 18-hit plate attack to carry the University of Southern Maine to a 19-1 win over Bates College of Lewiston in college baseball action here Friday.

Southern Maine improved to 26-7, thanks to the five-inning, 1-run pitching of Troy Brown (5-1). Jim Broughton doubled and tripled for the Huskies, while Mark Caron belted his third homer of the season.

For Bates, 13-8, Aaron Wensley and Bob Kearney each had two singles.
