HAMPDEN – A walk to Shellie Arbuckle, singles by Sue Thompson and Amy Crocker, and a double error on a ground ball to second produced three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Hampden an 11-10, come-from-behind high school softball win over Bangor here Wednesday afternoon.

Crocker had a triple to go with her single, Thompson had two singles and a run batted in, and winning pitcher Arbuckle had a run-scoring triple for the Broncos, now 9-6.

Tina Keeling had a double and three singles good for two RBIs for the Rams, now 11-4, with Carrie Caler and Jen Patry collecting two base hits apiece. Caler drove in three runs.

At East Corinth, the Red Devils slugged Schenck of East Millinocket with 16 hits in four at-bats and posted their 14th victory without a loss.

Sue Ann Allen and Laura Hatch hit home runs for the winners, Allen’s with one on and Hatch’s with the bases empty. Cheri Greatorex and Beth Miller rach singled three times.

For the Wolverines, 9-5, Tracy Ouellette hit a two-run homer and Kristi Fiske slugged a three-run triple.

At Blue Hill, George Stevens Academy had a 25-hit attack as the Eagles concluded their season at 15-1.

Cara Culvert led the Eagles with four singles and a double good for six RBIs. Wendy Marcinkus had five singles, Jessica Fontaine a triple, double, and single, Brandy Eaton two doubles and a single and Jill Smith two singles and a double. Fontaine had four runs batted in, the other three each had three RBI.

For the 3-11 Crusaders of Bangor, Laura Boobar had a two-run homer and a single and reached base every time up while drawing three walks and being hit by a pitch.

Stephanie Archer had four RBI on a triple and three singles while Tracy Rideout, Angel Graham, and Meagan Smith singled twice each for the Crusaders.

At Orono, the Red Riots rallied for three runs in the seventh to defeat Ellsworth and even their record at 7-7.

Darcie Umel scored the first run in the seventh for Orono when she walked, stole second, and scored on throwing errors. Amy Yerxa plated the second run with an infield single, and the winning run came across on a passed ball.

Liza Marzilli paced the Riots with a two-run homer and single. Winning pitcher Shelly Tyrell added two singles and two RBI.

Rebecca Stanley drove in four runs for 8-6 Ellsworth with a double and single. Shelley Coffin tripled, singled, and drove in three runs while Wendy Turner and Candy Conley each singled twice.

At Newport, Heather Brewer hit a triple and two singles to help lead Old Town’s 13-hit attack and defeat the host Nokomis Warriors.

Karen Ackley pitched five strong innings to notch the win for the 13-1 Old Town Indians. Becky Blue and Chris Dunphy each hit two singles.

Jen Annett hit two doubles and Angie Wilber had two singles for the 2-12 Warriors.

At Bucksport, Jenny Wardwell (7-0) led the host Bucks offensively and defensively by pitching a two-hitter, striking out 12, and issuing no walks, and hitting a triple and single for three RBIs.

Jennifer Marzolf singled twice, tripled, doubled, and drove in four runs for the 12-2 Bucks. Corinne Keene hit three singles, Julie Brown singled twice and had an RBI, and Kate Bakeman hit two singles.

Jane Frost and Tanya Winchenbach each hit singles for the Hawks.

At Winslow, Jen Harrison threw a three-hitter and hit an RBI triple to pace the Black Raiders to the win over Mount View of Thorndike.

For the 1-12 Mustangs, Dani Littlefield hit a triple and Heidi Adams singled twice.

WOODLAND – Sandi Carver pitched a three-hitter as the unbeaten Jonesport-Beals Royalettes boosted their record to 11-0, but she had to strike out five batters in one inning to finally collect a 17-5 schoolgirl softball victory here Wednesday.

Carver, who fanned 14 batters in the six-inning game, struck out the side in the third, but the third victim and then the fourth reached on errors by the catcher, setting up Amber Monk’s three-run double before Carver got her fifth strikeout to end the frame.

Susie Stevens had three singles and Susie Wyatt a pair of hits for the winners.

For 2-11 Woodland, Missy Cox had a solo homer in the first and Amanda McLellan added a double.

At Fort Kent, Michelle Levasseur pitched a four-hitter as Community High scored five in the fifth and five more in the sixth in a comeback win.

The 11-2 Warriors got bat support from Kristen Voisine with four RBIs on two doubles and two singles, while Melissa Voisine and Heather Pelletier each doubled and singled.

For the Wildcats, now at 4-9, Jen White had a RBI double.

At Machias, Amy Wolverton struck out eight while she pitched a five-hitter for her ninth win in 13 games – also the Bulldogs’ record.

For the 6-7 Blue Devils, Billie Jo Johnson had a triple.

At East Machias, Narragaugus of Harrington scored 20 runs in the first two innings and went on to its ninth win against five losses.

Lori Lyons, Shannon Curtis and Allison Reynolds combined for 10 RBIs, with Lyons driving in four on a triple and double, and Reynolds and Curtis three each on two singles and a double apiece.

The 2-1 Raiders from Washington Academy had three singles apiece from Mandy Webb and Wanda Seeley and a triple and single from Lori Dinsmore

At Limestone, Kim Chatman pitched an abbreviated two-hitter with six strikeouts and added a pair of doubles.

Rachel Sharts drove in four runs for the 5-9 Eagles with two doubles and a single, Lisa Jones had three doubles and a single and both Wendy Cote and Amy Fountain posted two doubles.

For the St. Agatha visitors, Tonya Michaud doubled and Amy Cyr singled.

At Washburn, Diana Belskis drove in seven runs with three singles to key a 30-hit attack that paced Ashland to its seventh win in 13 games.

Washburn fell to 0-14.

Holly Carney had five hits and three RBIs for the winners; Cathy Tardie had four singles and two RBIs; winning pitcher Missy Chasse had a solo homer and two singles and Kristy Paradise, Elissa Chasse and Hope Carney had three singles and two RBIs each.

Chasse went the five innings for the win, allowing five hits while striking out one and not walking anybody.

Amy Lavway had two singles for Washburn and Amanda Tarr had an RBI single.

At Van Buren, Stacy Everett slammed a two-out, two-run double in the seventh to lift the Fort Fairfield Tigers by the Crusaders.

Samantha Hayes added a solo homer for the 4-9 Tigers and Nicole Boyce earned the win.

For 4-9 Van Buren, Amy Butler singled twice and drove in a run and Tammy Lajoie had a one-run single.

At Sherman Station, freshman Terri Craig hurled a five-hitter for her seventh win as unbeaten Katahdin won its 11th game.

Lea Craig had a pair of base hits for Katahdin and Shannon Craig had a single and an RBI. Katahdin was held to four hits by Angela Allen.

Echo Smith and Nicole Shaw each had a single and an RBI for 9-5 Central Aroostook of Mars Hill.

At Brewer, freshman Amanda Sevigny keyed a five-run first inning rally with a three-run homer as Brewer salvaged a split of its doubleheader. Sevigny drove in five runs in the nightcap.

Both teams are now 5-9.

Emily Burrill had two singles for Brewer and Tracey Jackson went the distance for the win, spacing six hits.

Angel Basselet had two base hits for Caribou.

In the opener, Jerry Habeeb hit four singles and Basselet drove in three runs with a double and a single to key Caribou’s win.

Nicole Sanfacon had three base hits for the winners, Nicole Kelley doubled and singled and Jessica Martin singled twice. Habeeb pitched a complete-game three-hitter.

Angie Lufkin hit a two-run homer for Brewer.

At Searsport, Jen Russ had a one-hitter to go with a previous no-hitter this spring, as she raised her (and her team’s) record to 8-4.

Russ fanned 10 and walked four and gave up only a first-inning triple by Cindy Alexander.

Russ also led the Vikings at the plate with three singles and a double. Kelley Fields had a double, triple and single for three RBI, Amy Bagley doubled twice and singled, and Amber Howard had two base hits.
