I don’t know if I am the only one who noticed the type of business advertising placed within the Bangor Daily News’ physical fitness section.
I felt the majority of the advertisement leaned toward quick weight-loss, plastic-laser surgery, and chiropractors. It is obvious where the money is being made. One should look to prevention rather than laser and plastic surgery. In fact, it is much cheaper and less painful to exercise and eat properly than to indulge in the techniques of modern medicine. I hope your readers became intimidated by the presence of all the expensive cures.
One should realize why our medical costs have escalated. We should at least take some of the blame and look at what we eat, type of physical habits, and the amounts of substances we abuse. Americans are well known for their addictions to alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, salt, sugar, and illegal drugs. Everyone should take control over their lifestyles and strive for healthier habits.
