Rockets trip Bangor

EAST SULLIVAN – The Rockets from East Sullivan received two goals from Donnie Dyer and another from Travis Mercier to edge Bangor 3-2 in a Central Maine Summer Soccer League game here Wednesday. Mitch Stone scored both goals for Bangor. East Sullivan is now 2-0 while Bangor slipped to 1-1.

Legends has 2-0 win

Jason Hill scored both goals, one unassisted, as Legends blanked International Soccer Club 2-0 in Summer Soccer League play Wednesday at Husson’s field. Jake Dragatinovic had one assist and Eric Higgins posted the shutout in the nets. Legends in 1-1-1 and ISC 0-1-1.

Jeffrey leads Absolute

LUBEC – Mike Jeffrey scored two goals and added an assist to lead Absolute of Bangor to a win in its Summer Soccer League opener here Wednesday. Mike McGuire and Jan Semba added goals and Jason Reynolds posted the shutout. For 0-2-1, Josh Lyons was in goal.

Van Buren blanks Loring

LIMESTONE – Van Buren defeated Loring Air Force Base 3-0 in Aroostook Summer Soccer League play Wednesday. For 2-2 Van Buren, Kevin Moreau scored two goals and Sarah Roy added one. Goalkeepers Todd Ayotte and Troy LaPlante combined on the shutout. For 0-4 Loring, Chris Apodaca was in the nets.

Hampden-Winterport beats Machias

MACHIAS – Keith Polo scored two goals and assisted on a third while leading Hampden-Winterport to a 5-1 Central Maine Summer Soccer League victory over Machias here Wednesday. Scott Davis scored two goals for the 2-0-2 winners and Cory Crocker provided a goal and an assist. R.C. Bayrt tallied an unassisted goal for 0-1-0 Machias.

Presque Isle has 3-0 soccer win

FORT FAIRFIELD – Dean Gendreau and Jason Pangburn combined on the shutout as Presque Isle blanked Fort Fairfield 3-0 Wednesday in Men’s Summer Soccer League action here.

Donny Kirkbride, Wayne Martin and San Winkleman scored the goals for 3-0-1 PI, while Todd Willard had two assists.

Mike Plotzyk was in goal for 0-4 Fort Fairfield.
