CALAIS – Righthander Brent Brown fired a four-hitter and drove in the game’s only run with a second-inning single to lead Bangor to a 1-0 Zone 1 American Legion baseball win over Calais at DelMonaco Field here Wednesday.

Bangor is now 3-1 while Calais fell to 2-2.

Brown outdueled Calais righthander Derek Feeney, who threw a six-hitter.

Brown struck out three and walked two and Feeney had seven strikeouts and three walks.

Consecutive, no-out singles by Roy Peary, Justin Shaw and Brown produced the second-inning run.

Calais’ best scoring opportunity came in the fifth inning when Josh Martell and Ray Fox hit consecutive, one-out singles. But Brown got two fly ball outs to end the threat.

Shaw had two singles and a walk for Bangor.
