A story Wednesday on the Maine Page about a Bancroft man claiming damages against the secretary of state contained an error in the headline. The headline reported that a suit had been filed. That is not the case. A claim for damages is not the same as a suit. It is a legal procedure that serves notice to a governmental entity that a suit may be filed.

This was incorrect. There is no rain date planned for the fireworks.
