Bangor slips past Howland
Kevin Hammil netted a goal and assisted on two more, highlighting the Bangor offense on its way to a 3-2 win over Howland in Central Maine Summer Soccer League high school division action in Bangor on Sunday. Also scoring for 3-2-1 Bangor were Scott Crichton and Matt Park, each with one goal. George Wright had an assist. Jeremy Durost and Ryan Reed accounted for 4-2 Howland’s two goals while Carlton Thurlow chipped in with an assist.
Jasmines downs Hertz Logging
ORONO – Five players contributed goals for the Jasmines of Orono as they cruised past Hertz Logging of Brewer for a 5-1 Central Maine Summer Soccer League high school division win on Sunday. Naoji Yoshida, Jamie Beaudin, Nate Garwood, David Carlson, and Mike Inman all netted goals for the Jasmines, now 5-1. Yoshida, Beaudin, and Garwood also assisted on three goals. Jason Glidden scored the only goal for Hertz off an assist from Scott Weiser. Hertz Logging is now 1-4-1.
MDI Blues routs Legends
NORTHEAST HARBOR – John Fitzgerald scored a pair of goals to lead the MDI Blues to a 4-1 Central Maine Summer Soccer League adult division victory over Legends of Bangor here on Sunday afternoon. Greg Linscott (from Kevin Schmalenberger) and Ewan Whittaker (from Tom Savage) added goals for 4-0-2 MDI Blues. Eric Rogers added an assist. For Legends, 2-2-2, Jake Dragutinovic scored off a Todd Scovill assist.
