Rosaree M. Dubay of Orono and Daniel E. McAllister Jr. of Hampden received the Superior Service Honor Award from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Dubay received the award for inspiring dedication to the Farmers Home Administration’s personnel in Maine and for all-around dedication to the good of the Agency.
Dubay’s efforts in working with the Maine Bureau of Rehabilitation has resulted in the employment of two handicapped people in 1991. Her work has resulted in a cooperative relationship with the state agency.
A native of Fairfield, Dubay has been with the FmHA for 16 years. She is a graduate of Lawrence High School and Husson College.
McAllister received the award for outstanding efforts in rural community development while serving as chief of Community and Business Programs in the FmHA’s state office in Bangor.
McAllister’s efforts resulted in $47,644,052 in federal assistance to Maine in 1991, which included loans and grants for community facilities, industrial development, water and waste disposal systems, solid waste technical assistance, and rural businesses.
A native of Fryeburg, McAllister has been with the FmHA for 26 years. He is a graduate of Fryeburg Academy and the University of Maine.
He recently received awards from the Maine Association of Finance Officers and the Economic Development Council of Maine for his development efforts and his service to Maine municipalities.
Secretary of Agriculture Edward Madigan presented the awards June 10 at ceremonies in Washington, D.C. The Superior Service Award was presented to 50 individuals, 21 groups and three teams from the USDA work force from across the nation. Dubay and McAllister were among 10 FmHA employees who received the award.
