The Bangor American Legion baseball team survived a walkathon on Tuesday night at Garland Street Field, taking advantage of 10 free passes by Sherman Brothers pitching and defeating the Suns 8-4.

Bangor pitchers also surrendered nine walks of their own.

Both teams are 7-10.

For Bangor, which garnered just three hits, Justin Shaw had a single, a double, and two RBIs while Rob Estey had an RBI single. Craig Bowden received two of the walks, one of which drove in a run. Sherman Brothers was led by Chris Sherrard and Matt Cassidy, each of whom posted doubles. Losing pitcher Paul Napoleoni struck out six and walked 10.
