EAST CORINTH – Mandy King’s goal lifted the Maine Central Institute Huskies to a 1-0 victory over the Central Red Devils in schoolgirl field hockey action Thursday.

King scored off an assist by Mary Wintle at the 31:31 mark of the first half. Emily Walker made 15 saves on 20 shots for the 3-0 Huskies.

Cherie Greatorex came up with 19 saves on 30 shots for the 0-2 Red Devils.

Presque Isle 1, Houlton 0

At Presque Isle, Heather Piper’s unassisted goal for the host Wildcats in the first half was the lone goal of the game.

Jen White made 10 saves on 19 shots for the 2-1-3 Wildcats.

For the Shiretowners, Kate Anderson had seven saves on 12 shots.

SAHS 2, Easton 1

At Dyer Brook, Jill Mathers’ goal with 18:47 left in the game gave the host Southern Aroostook Warriors the victory over Easton.

For the 2-2-2 Warriors, Corinne Watson assisted on the game-winner. Mathers also scored the first goal unassisted. Goalie Shay Fox saved five of seven shots.

Deedra Ireland scored on a Marcie Lamoreau assist for the 1-7-1 Bears. Helen Pangburn made 21 saves on 23 shots.

Hodgdon 2, Woodland 0

At Woodland, Wendy Ivey scored both of Hodgon’s goals to lead the Hawks to the shutout over Woodland.

Corinne Watson assisted on one of Ivey’s goals for the 3-5 Hawks. Jodi Quinn had no saves on no shots.

For the 0-2 Dragons, Missy Cox made 18 saves on 20 shots.
