Women’s College Soccer

WATERVILLE – Allison Lutz made six saves on seven shots and three different players each scored one goal to lead the Colby College Mules to a 3-1 women’s soccer victory over Middlebury (Vt.) College on Friday afternoon.

Megan Fitzpatrick, Alyssa Bensetler, and Pam Crebase each tallied unassisted goals for the winners, now 2-0.

For Middlebury, 1-1, Amy Lilly scored the goal while Sarah Cahill made eight saves on 12 shots.

Bates 2, Norwich 1 (OT)

At Lewiston, Jenna Moconochie’s goal with 7:07 left in the first overtime lifted the Bobcats to an opening-game win over the Cadets.

Moconochie also scored the first Bobcat goal. Deirdre O’ Leary assited on the game winning goal. Amy Brunner made eight saves on 10 shots.

Danielle Murphy scored for the 3-1 Cadets assisted by Jennifer Buck. Karin Fortier made 29 saves on 41 shots.
