PRESQUE ISLE — Richard A. Durost, principal of Presque Isle High School, has been appointed to a three-year term on the National Association of Secondary School Principals Committee on the Smaller Secondary School.

The seven-member committee works on improving learning opportunities for students and professional growth activities for administrators of small secondary schools.

Durost will represent the group’s Region I, which includes Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island.

His 21-year career in education includes employment as a high school math teacher, principal of Easton High School, and vice principal and principal at Presque Isle.
