Leaders seminar reported > Literary club hears delegate

DEXTER — Mandi Pratt, a delegate to the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership seminar, discussed her experiences during a dinner meeting of Dexter Woman’s Literary Club Tuesday, Sept 15, at Brewster Inn in Dexter. She was sponsored by the literary club and the Dexter Sunrise Kiwanis Club.

More than 30 members and guests were welcomed to the meeting by Corinne Neal and Marguerite Sherburne.

A moment of silence was observed in memory of Yvonne Peters. Reports of secretary Anna Crouse and treasurer Constance Crosby were heard and approved. Priscilla Worden, membership chairman, reported that Marjorie Walter and Estelle Mason had been recommended for membership and they were voted in as members. They will be initiated at the November meeting.

Members voted to give Tammy Moscrip, last year’s Hugh O’Brien seminar delegate, $25 toward her trip to Washington, D. C. to attend a youth leadership seminar as a representative of the local high school.

Members voted to make Marjorie Buxton and Shirley Luce honorary members. They voted to donate $10 to the Dexter Mall-Walk celebration. Public Health Nurse Janet Rines said that a cholesterol screening would be held on Satruday, Sept. 19.

Sherburne said that a former area resident, Mildred Hanson was at the Humana Hospital in Florida. The address is Humana Hospital, 1500 Fort King Road, Dade City, Fla. 33525.

The committee for the evening was Anna Crouse, Jane Gilbert and Priscilla Worden.
