Girls Soccer

DYER BROOK – Rachel Bishop scored twice to propel host Southern Aroostook to a 4-0 schoolgirl soccer victory over Woodland on Wednesday.

Jill Mathers scored a goal and assisted on one of Bishop’s tallies for the 3-5-2 Warriors. Janet Corneil scored off a Jodi Brown assist, while Jessica Collier set up Mathers’ goal.

Shay Fox made seven saves on as many shots.

Missy Cox came up with 20 saves on 24 shots for the 0-5 Dragons.

PVHS 0, Penquis 0

At Howland, Penquis goalkeeper Andrea Haley helped preserve a tie for her team by making 12 saves on 20 shots against the host Howlers of Penobscot Valley High School.

Penquis is now 1-3-4 while PVHS moved to 5-2-1.

For the Howlers, Julie DeLaite had four saves on nine shots.
