OLD TOWN – Matt Arsenault scored two goals to pace the Old Town Indians to a 4-0 schoolboy soccer win over the Mount Desert Island Trojans Saturday.

Andy Trice had a goal and two assists for the 7-4-1 Indians. Chad Thompson had a goal and Scott Springer added an assist. Chris Hashey made six saves on eight shots.

Bob Lanpher made seven saves on 13 shots for the 8-4-1 Trojans.

Hampden 3, Presque Isle 1

At Presque Isle, Ryan Cowan had a goal and an assist to help pace the Hampden Academy Broncos to the win over the host Wildcats.

Jeff Carson and Matt Polo each scored a goal for the 5-6-1 Broncos. Darren Jellison assisted on Cowan’s goal, Polo’s was unassisted. Greg Carson made eight saves on 10 shots.

For the 2-10 Wildcats, Randy Gartley scored on a penalty kick. Matt Casavant and Mark Robbins combined for 11 saves on 26 shots.

Caribou 2, Brewer 0

At Caribou, the Caribou Vikings improved their record to 9-2 with a shutout over Brewer.

Scott Richardson and Ben Black each scored a goal for the Vikings. Gerry Swetnam assisted on a goal and Chris Funk notched his second shutout of the year with 15 saves on 21 shots.

For 9-3-1 Brewer, Jayson Reynolds made 10 saves on 19 shots.

Dexter 4, Central 2

At Dexter, Ronny Jorgensen scored two goals and assisted on another, powering the Tigers to their fourth win against five losses and three ties.

Jason Adickes added a goal and an assist for Dexter, while Josh Kiernan scored unassisted. ‘Keeper Aaron Sargent made nine saves, facing 20 shots.

For Central of East Corinth, 4-6-1, Joe Dunn scored off a Mike Hatch assist. Al Withee scored on a penalty kick. Ryan Stevens made eight saves, facing 22 shots. Graffam carries Piscataquis Community over Ponies

GUILFORD – Curtis Graffam had a goal and an assist to help pace the host Piscataquis Pirates to a 2-0 win over Foxcroft Academy in schoolboy soccer action Saturday.

Matt Gioia scored a goal and Abe Harrington had an assist for the 6-5-1 Pirates. Chad Kimball made seven saves on nine shots.

For the Ponies, now 2-4-4 on the season, Jason Fredericks saved 11 of 14 shots.
