HERMON – Gary Bellefleur of Stetson took the final checkered flag of the season at Speedway 95 in Hermon here Sunday afternoon, winning the Late Model Sportsman feature at the one-third-mile track.

After a mechanical failure with two laps to go sent race leader Bob Coburn of Winn to the pits, Bellefleur took over and cruised to victory ahead of Moe Blanchard of Kenduskeag and Andy Santerre of Cherryfield.

Forrest Peaslee of Jefferson, meanwhile, won the Hobby division feature race, but Kim Gray’s second-place finish gave her the division season championship over Mike Harnish of Winterport. Tanya Schafer finished the race in third. Other Speedway 95 results
