Men’s College Soccer
ORONO – Randy Jacobs’ unassisted goal with 13:54 remaining in regulation, his 15th of the season, enabled the University of Massachusetts Minutemen to tie the University of Maine Black Bears 1-1 in men’s soccer action Sunday.
Neither team could score in the overtime.
Maine freshman striker Jake Ouimet, who had already set the school’s single season record for goals with 13, notched his 14th goal in the first half to eclipse the school record for points. He concluded his freshman season with 30 points on 14 goals and two assists.
Ben Spike had set the previous records for goals (12) and points (28) in 1987.
