Women’s College Basketball

ORONO – Vermont center Sharon Bay, a native of Portland was named North Atlantic Conference women’s basketball player of the week for the weekend ending Dec. 6.

Bay was named MVP of the Brown University tournament after scoring 22 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in the final against Kent. Bay added 25 pointys and 14 rebounds in her first three games this season and made 16 of 17 free throws.

Erin Grealy of the University of Maine (19 points in three games) was also considered for the award.

Katasha Artis of Northeastern, a sophomore transfer from Virginia, was NAC Rookie of the Week. Maine’s Stacia Rustad was also considered for the that honor.
