An East Millinocket couple escaped injury Saturday when their pickup truck went out of control of Route 15 in Orrington and crashed into a garage.

Penobscot County Deputy Paul Gaucher said Barry Bryant, 49, lost control of the truck on a curve during Saturday’s snowstorm. Bryant met a tractor-trailer truck on the curve and attempted to move over to allow the large truck more room.

The pickup truck went out of control and smashed into a storage garage owned by Bruce Blackmere of Holden. Gaucher said the truck “took out the corner post” of the garage.

Neither Bryant nor his wife, Patricia, who was a passenger in the pickup, was injured in the 12:35 p.m. crash. The 1988 Ford truck received about $900 damage, Gaucher said. Damage to the garage was unknown.
