HOULTON – Sophomore standout Danny Dahl scored 27 points and Brian Swallow got all of his 10 points in the clutch as Houlton downed Schenck of East Millinocket 80-74 in schoolboy basketball here Thursday night.

Swallow, held scoreless over the first three periods, hit three 3-pointers and foul shot in the last period to give the Shiretowners to the lead for good.

Schenck had led at the first two breaks by one before the hosts took a similarly slim edge into the final eight minutes.

Dahl, a 6-1 sophomore, added 11 rebounds, seven assists, three steals and two blocks to his game-high 37. Swallow had 10 as the Shires evened their record at 2-2.

For the Wolverines, 4-2, Kevin Thompson scored 18, Mark Farmer 17, Chris Hale 12, and Greg Currier 11.

Garth McNally paced the winners of Sherman Station with 17 points, Alex Mitchell put in 12, and Seth Rush netted 11.

Snapper Legassey scored 12 points for SAHS and Kyle Fox added 11.

At Fort Kent, the Wildcats used a balanced scoring attack to hold off the Warriors and even their record to 1-1.

Tate McPherson scored 18 points for the winners and Scott Kenney put in 15. Sam Ricker and Rob Wasson each chipped in with 12 points while Frank Bishop netted 11.

For 3-2 Fort Kent, Laughan Berthiaume poured in 28 points, including a 13-for-13 effort from the line. Ryan Martin added 13 points and Brad Currier put in 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
