GREENVILLE — The School Union 60 Comittee on Tuesday set the salary of Superintendent Gilbert Reynolds at $45,000 for the fiscal year.
The action was taken after a short executive session. The entire budget package for Union 60, which includes salaries, office expenses and benefits, is expected to be adopted next month.
The benefits for Reynolds and others in the office will be discussed in early January. Reynolds said that insurance increased significantly, so the committee wanted to review its options before makinf a final decision.
The committee also approved a cost sharing plan for the communities in Union 60, based on student population rather than on the amount of time the superintendent spends in each community.
If the total budget is approved next month, Beaver Cove and Greenville will pay more because the two communities have larger enrollments. Kingsbury, Willimantic and Shirley will pay less.
Alan Roberts was re-elected as chairman, Bonnie DuBien as vice chairman, and Steve Nute, secretary.
