Diet Therapy Services at St. Joseph Hospital will begin another in its series of “Take Control” weight control classes on Jan. 7 and 8. Registrants can pick either 5:30 p.m. classes on Thursdays or 9 a.m. classes on Fridays.

The course is designed to promote weight control and selection of food for good health and disease prevention. No special foods or beverages are required. The program is conducted by a licensed counselor and a licensed dietition, who will cover the causes of overeating, lifestyle changes, and individualized meal plans. Course fee is $60.

For those who have already completed “Take Control,” an advanced course called “Break Out,” is being offered. This series of four sessions covers food addictions, compulsive overeating, and advanced nutrition topics. Classes begin at 6:45 p.m. Jan. 7 or 10:15 a.m. Jan. 8. Course fee is $30.

All classes will meet at St. Joseph Ambulatory Care, 268 Center St. in Bangor. To register or for more information, call 941-1747 or 941-1794.
