Bree Robert leads Vikings to victory

JONESPORT – Searsport outscored host Jonesport-Beals 15-6 in the second quarter to help pave the way for the Vikings’ 45-37 schoolgirl basketball victory in a battle of division powers here Wednesday.

Bree Robert scored 15 points to help the Class C Vikings remain undefeated. Searsport improved to 7-0. The Royals’ Sandi Carver turned in a superb defensive effort on Vikings guard Amber Howard, holding her to four points.

Carver paced the Class D Royalettes (4-2) with 13 points and Jan Beal grabbed 11 rebounds.

Brandy Eaton led the 4-3 GSA Eagles with 16 points. Amanda Auld had 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Daralyn Smiley paced the winners with 19 points and 10 steals. Tammy McKenney chipped in with 17 points and Rachel Cookson added 13 to go with her 18 rebounds.

Hope Walden scored 18 points for 3-4 Greenville and Jen Searles put in 10.

Becky Derosier led the way for the 4-3 Pioneers with 16 points and Erin Killarney added 10.
