FORT FAIRFIELD — The Fort Fairfield Town Council elected J. Michael Edmunds as council chairman and approved committee appointments Wednesday.

Newly-elected councilors Howard Higgins and Mary Lou Grant were sworn in for three-year terms.

Town Manager Scott Seabury was appointed to a one-year term on the Fort Fairfield Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors. Councilors were appointed to one-year terms as follows: Gregory Murchison, Tri-Community Recycling and Sanitary Landfill’s Board of Directors; Edmunds, Murchison and Grant, town finance committee; Ann Shaw, council secretary; and Higgins and Grant, town revolving loan fund committee.
