The Waldo County chapter of the United Bikers of Maine is sponsoring the Kenny Fitzgerald Benefit Basketball Game on Monday, Jan. 18 at Belfast Area High School.

The contest will feature the Waldo bikers against a contingent of Waldo County law enforcement officers. The doors open at 7 p.m..

Admission is $5, with all proceeds to benefit Kenny Fitzgerald, a veteran Belfast police officier who has had extensive health problems of late. Fitzgerald also is a member of the United Bikers of Maine.

Red Higgins, speaking on behalf of UBM, said he hopes the event will raise money to help a friend while also promote a feeling of togetherness among law enforcement and bikers.
