BELFAST – The Camden-Rockport Windjammers fought back from a five-point deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat the Belfast Lions 52-49 in schoolgirl basketball action Tuesday night.
Jill Young hit a layup and free throw and Robin Peckham hit two free throws in the final 1:30 to give the Windjammers the win.
Young paced the 7-6 winners with 21 points and Angie Holmes put in 19.
Sue Robbins scored 12 points for 2-14 Belfast, Torey Benjamin added 11, and Katie Weaver netted 10.

GUILFORD – Kim Bennett scored 10 of 23 points in the fourth quarter as Mattanawcook Academy overcame a two-point third quarter deficit and defeated Piscataquis Community 59-53 in schoolgirl basketball here Tuesday night.
April Lyons added 17 points for the Lynx from Lincoln, now 11-3.

At Ashland, the Ashland Hornets rallied in the last period and eked out a tight win over Central Aroostook in a key Class D matchup.
The Hornets, at 11-4, finally took the lead for good with four minutes left in the contest. CAHS had led by nine at halftime and five after three periods.
Hope Carney and Diana Belskis led the Ashland comeback getting six and seven points, respectively, in the final period. Carney finished with 15 and Belsksis 14. Denise Wentworth had 10 rebounds.
For the Mars Hill girls, now 10-4, Angela Allen had 14 points and Stori Shaw 12.
