Men’s College Basketball
BRUNSWICK – Tony Abbiati had 20 points and helped to lead the host Bowdoin College Polar Bears to a 106-56 men’s college victory over the University of Maine-Augusta here Wednesday.
For the 13-8 Polar Bears, Nick Browning and Eric Bell scored 19 and 18 points, respectively. Craig Vezina had 16 and Elija Whitehead added 11.
Matt Belanger scored 19 points to lead the UMA Rebels. Craig Chesley scored 12 and Scott Bessey added 10.

At New London, N.H., Brunswick’s Jim Durrell scored a game-high 25 points as the Colby-Sawyer Chargers pulled away from the University of Southern Maine in the second half en route to a win.
Matt Godbout had 20 points for the 14-8 winners, T.J. Gondek scored 16; Ethan Casson had 13 points and Jim McGilvery tossed in 10 more.
Dan Clifford scored 22 points for 12-10 Southern Maine and Dave Labbe chipped in with nine. Herb Smart had eight points.
