FORT KENT — The St. John Valley Division of Hospice of Aroostook is seeking dedicated people to bring a special kind of caring to the area’s terminally ill and their loved ones. A training program will be offered.

Volunteers undergo an intensive 30-hour training program which covers such issues as confidentiality, communication, family interaction, medical care, comfort measures and the psychology of death, grief and bereavement.

The training team comprises physicians, social workers, psychologists, attorneys, members of the clergy, registered nurses, funeral directors and experienced hospice volunteers.
