EDINBURG, Texas – Center fielder Chad White went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two stolen bases, three RBIs, and three runs scored to help the University of Maine snap a six-game losing streak and beat Baylor University 10-6 here Thursday in the Texas-Pan American Citrus Tournament.

For the 2-6 Maine Black Bears, a four-run second inning and five-run seventh paved the way to the win. RBI doubles by White and Shanan Knox preceded a three-run homer by first baseman Gabe Duross in the seventh that sealed the victory.

Maine’s second-inning rally was paced by White’s two-run double and two wild pitches that scored runners from third.

Knox was 2-for-2 with a double, single, a run scored, and an RBI. Duross went 2-for-4 with four RBIs and a run scored. Junior righthander Jason Dryswak (1-0) went the distance, allowing eight hits and walking three batters.

Dryswak pitched his way out of a two-out, bases-loaded jam in the seventh by retiring Matt Trozzo on a fly ball to right field.

For the 18-7 Baylor Bears, shortstop Joe Wharton went 2-for-4 with a solo homer in the third inning, a single, and a run scored.

Second baseman Mark Murphy belted a solo home run in the seventh and Jason Marshall doubled, singled, and drove in two runs. Aaron Lineweaver took the complete-game loss.
