Kariya Rookie of Month

For the third time in four months, University of Maine freshman left winger Paul Kariya was named the Hockey East Rookie of the Month. In 10 February games, Kariya had five goals and 16 assists. Two of his goals were game-winners and one was a power play goal. Boston University senior center and co-captain David Sacco was named the Player of the Month. He had eight goals and six assists in nine games including a game-winner and a shorthanded goal.
