VAN BUREN — A teacher and two students at Van Buren District Secondary School have been recognized as Tandy Technology Scholars for their achievements in mathematics, science or computer science.

Katie Louise Ouellette received a certificate for her outstanding performance in those areas. Angie Ann Marquis was recognized for being in the top 2 percent of academic nominees.

Hollis Mark Smith was recognized for his teaching in the areas of mathematics, science or computer science.

One Maine teacher, Tony Black of Westbrook High School, received a $2,500 cash award for being a 1992-1993 Teacher National Finalist.
