DOVER-FOXCROFT — The first recipients of the Horizon Scholarship at Foxcroft Academy in Dover-Foxcroft have been selected to receive a total of $6,000.

The 13 Foxcroft Academy students selected to receive the funds plan to participate in activities ranging from Space Camp in Alabama to an educational trip to Paris, France. Those selected were: Thomas Allen, David Bragan, Amy Charles, Candace Damon, Emily Harvey, Stacy Henner, LaDawna McLeish, Jennifer Merrill, Todd Perkins, Heidi Ryder, Gary Sylvester, Darcie White and Jennifer Wilcox.

The Horizon Scholarship funds were generated from gifts to the Annual Giving Campaign from alumni and friends of Foxcroft Academy, and are intended to provide educational experiences that are not presently offered to students in Grades 9-11.

A selection committee comprised of Foxcroft Academy staff members, trustees, community members and seniors awarded the scholarships based on such factors as references and academic record.
