Badgers top Owls twice

JOHNSON, VT. – Mark Russo doubled twice and drove in two runs as Johnson State held off a two-run seventh inning rally by the University of Maine at Presque Isle to defeat the Owls 3-2 in the second game of a doubleheader.

Jim Balance went the distance to collect the win for the 3-1 Badgers.

For 0-6 UMPI, Tim Richards took the loss. Dan Hersey collected two hits and drove in two runs.

Scott Pushard tossed a complete game five-hitter as the Badgers blanked the Owls 4-0 in game one.

Ken Willette went the distance in suffering the loss for the Owls. Rob Foley connected for two of UMPI’s five hits.
