Jaycees from throughout the state met in Bangor April 8 to assist with the formation of a new chapter, the Bangor Area Jaycees. Goals being emphasized by the non-profit international organization of young people are management and leadership training for members and implementation of projects to help area communities.

Ray McCutcheon, state membership vice president, and Daniel Mower, local community development vice president, visited Bangor area businesses to discuss the new chapter.

Men and women between the ages of 21 and 39 are invited to attend the next Bangor Area Jaycees meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, April 26, at the Community Health and Counseling Center, 42 Cedar St., in Bangor. Twenty members are needed to start the new chapter.
