LEE – Heidi Osgood singled home Charlotte Cormier with two out in the eighth inning here Saturday to lead Lee Academy to a season-opening 11-10 softball victory over Central of East Corinth.

Cormier walked and stole two bases to set up the game-winner by Osgood, who finished with a double and two singles while going the distance on the mound. Heather Gordon collected three singles and Shelley Worster a single and two RBIs for the Pandas.

For the 1-1 Red Devils, Julie Allen singled three times behind loser Sue Ann Allen. Beth Miller tripled and singled, with Jenny Townsend, Dawn Wood and Traci Young contributing two hits apiece.

Ellsworth 12, Foxcroft 11

At Ellsworth, Kasha Ellsworth singled home Shannon Hamilton in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the host Eagles to a come-from-behind victory.

Ellsworth, now 2-0, fell behind 9-1 after 2 1/2 innings, but gradually battled back to within two runs entering the seventh. Rebecca Stanley drew a leadoff walk, took third on Hamilton’s double, and scored on back-to-back walks.

Stanley, who came on in relief of Jess Crossman in the first and scattered seven hits, knocked in four runs with two doubles and a single for the Eagles. while Amanda Ray contributed three hits and two RBIs, Hamilton two hits and Ellsworth two singles.

Loser Erica Morrell doubled and singled (one RBI) and Andrea Speed socked a run-scoring double for the 0-1 Ponies.
