DOVER-FOXCROFT — Police are investigating the theft Monday from Foxcroft Academy of an envelope containing about $30.

Chief Dennis Dyer of the Dover-Foxcroft Police Department said the funds were being collected by his department for Special Olympics, an event the department has supported since 1985.

Dyer said the envelope was used to collect the funds that teachers pledged at the school for Special Olympics. He said the envelope, clearly identified for Special Olympics, was taken from a desk.

Anyone with information about the envelope or the money should contact Dyer. All calls will remain confidential. The person responsible for taking the money will be prosecuted for theft, he said.
