BELFAST – Belfast took advantage of a throwing error and a passed ball with two outs, scoring three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to pull out a 12-11 Class B softball victory over Ellsworth here Friday.
For the 4-10 Lions, Sue Robbins doubled and singled. Staci Smith and Sara McFarland each singled twice. Miranda Mason scattered 10 hits to notch the win.
Sharon Hamilton hit two triples and Rebecca Stanley hit three singles to lead the 6-6 Eagles. Wendy Turner singled twice.

At Machias, Machias scored eight runs in the final inning to seal the win over Woodland.
