LUBEC — The Quoddy Players of Lubec will present a program in celebration of the new season titled “Sumer Is Ycumen In,” at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 19, at the Lubec High School cafetorium.

The program is named after a medieval English spring song, dating to 1240. Also known as the “Cuckoo Song,” “Sumer Is Ycumen In” normally is sung in the form of a round, in which voices repeat one another in succession, pausing and beginning in turn.

The program is in two parts, with the opening segment featuring songs and skits to celebrate the arrival of summer. Part two features a play based on “Alice in Wonderland.”

Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for students, $1 for children under 12. All proceeds will benefit Lubec High School.
