BONNIE SMITH, a 6 1/2-year veteran at Bangor Savings Bank, has been promoted to branch assistant at the bank’s Eastport office. Smith began her career as a teller trainee and progressed to certified teller in 1989. She is a graduate of Skowhegan High School.

Firstmark Corp. of Waterville has hired MONICA J. SMALL as director of marketing. Her responsibilities will include advertising, seminars, speaking engagements and public relations. Small earned a bachelor’s degree in communications at the University of New Hampshire.

ROBERT MATHIEN has been named to the post of vice president for operations at St. Joseph Hospital in Bangor. Mathien previously served as senior vice president for operations at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston. He also has held several administrative positions at Kennebec Valley Medical Center in Augusta.

Fleet Bank of Maine has named MICHAEL P. McTIGUE vice president and trust officer for investment services. McTigue joined the bank in 1991 and was formerly responsible for new business development and Fleet Bank’s personal asset management service in central and northern Maine.

MARY ALLEN has been named director of nursing at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital. In addition to her administrative duties, Allen will continue to provide direct patient care as an operating room nurse for two days a week. Allen has worked for the hospital 31 years.

The Bangor YMCA has announced that LYNN C. BARTLETT has been named director of the Y’s Camp Prentiss day camp for youth. A long-term substitute teacher for SAD 3, Bartlett earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education at the University of Connecticut.
