LUCERNE — The Village of Lucerne-In-Maine overseers decided Tuesday night to set the annual village meeting for Saturday, Aug. 21.

However, Administrative Assistant Gail Smith said, they are still some distance from having a complete warrant.

The biggest issue will be how to deal with the question of the dissolution of Lucerne, she said.

No article has been drafted yet to deal with the possible merger of Lucerne with Dedham.

Overseers still have to make a decision on the issue and determine what the article will state.

Also, there are some public hearings that have to be scheduled.

Smith said she is no longer the town clerk for Dedham. She remains the administrative assistant for Lucerne. The two jobs were too demanding, she said, taking up to 50 hours some weeks, so she did not choose to run again for the Dedham position.

Kim Erickson was elected the new Dedham town clerk and she will post her hours at the town office soon.
