Two Bangor teams captured men’s slow-pitch softball titles over the weekend during the District 4 championship tournaments for Classes C and D held at the Union Street fields in Bangor.
R.J.’s Market won the Class C crown, while Coca-Cola took top honors in the Class D ranks during Sunday’s title action.
R.J.’s beat Higgins Auto of Bangor 9-7 in Sunday’s final. Country Curls Hair and Tanning of Guilford finished third and the Wildcats of Bangor placed fourth.
All four teams earned a spot in the Class C state championships, scheduled July 23-25 in Augusta.
Coca-Cola topped Thomas Tax Service of Bangor 5-2 in the Class D title contest. Glaster and Springer of Hampden took third place, while Miami North/Sports World Card Shop of Bangor wound up fourth.
Those four teams will represent the district in the Class D state championships, slated July 30-Aug. 1 in Waterville.
