In the July 16 edition of the NEWS the front page article, “Bait machines reel in a profit for Union man,” hit a nerve with me and made me very sick. Animals of every size and shape have a right to be free. Frogs, worms, and crayfish aren’t any exception. Just because frogs hibernate in cold weather doesn’t mean it’s OK for them to be kept in vending machines. All of a sudden they’re awakened from their sleep and then they’re eaten. That is quite a way to wake up.

Animal cruelty is an issue everyone should know about because we are all just animals living together on this earth. Think about it. Anne Tabor Monson
