Bangor defeated Westbrook to survive an elimination game highlight Tuesday’s action at the Junior League State Tournament at Westbrook.
Bangor beat Westbrook 13-3 to advance in the loser’s bracket. The other game between Auburn Suburban and Biddeford was suspended in the seventh inning because of darkness with the score 11-11. The game will be resumed Wednesday at 3 p.m.
Bangor will take on the loser of that game at 5 p.m.
Senior League State Tournament action in Auburn was washed out on Tuesday.
The schedule will be moved back a day with Brewer playing Westbrook at 5:30 p.m. and Biddeford taking on Elliott of Lewiston at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
At the Little League Softball State Tournament in Falmouth, Auburn eliminated Bangor East 15-6. Tuesday’s late game was still being played at press time.
Auburn will take on the loser of Tuesday’s late game between Scarborough and Wells at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
In Senior League Softball State Tournament action at Falmouth, Sanford eliminated Bangor with a 13-6 victory.
Sanford will take on the loser of Wednesday’s winner’s bracket game involving Auburn and South Portland American on Thursday at 5 p.m.
Junior League
Bangor 13, Westbrook 3
At Auburn, Bangor’s Mike Arsenault and Tim LeBlanc stymied Westbrook hitters and the Bangor bats came alive in a 13-3 Junior Little League win Tuesday.
Bangor scored 10 runs in the fourth inning to blow the game open. Josh Pressley paced the Bangor attack with a double, two singles and three RBIs, while Arsenault and LeBlanc split the mound duties and scattered six hits. Chris MacLean rapped three singles for the winners.
Joe Gutsennez singled and scored a run for Westbrook.

Auburn 6, Bangor 4
At Auburn, Auburn Suburban scored twice in the top of the seventh to down Bangor 6-4.
Matt Simard singled twice, drove in two runs and picked up the pitching win in relief for Auburn Suburban.
Terry Ashlock doubled and drove in a run for Bangor, while starting pitcher Josh Pressley struck out eight in five innings of work.

At Falmouth, Allyson Pontbriand picked up the pitching win as Auburn Suburban eliminated Bangor East.
Pam LeBlanc and Allison Haskell collected RBI doubles to lead the winners.
Rachel Kelly stroked three singles for Bangor East, while Meghan Taylor and Beth Leathers each singled twice.

Sanford 13, Bangor 6
At Falmouth, Sanford turned two hits and 19 walks into a victory that eliminated Bangor from the tourney.
Mary Meagher and Jenn Roux picked up singles for the opportunistic winners.
For Bangor, Becca Kinney, Amanda Stevens and Kristy Holland each singled twice. Kinney drove in two runs.
