Needham hurls Brewer by Calais

Dan Needham gained the pitching win and stroked two singles to lead Brewer to a 15-4 American Legion win over Sherman Brothers of Calais at Heddericg Field in Brewer Wednesday.

The game was called after five innings due to darkness.

Mike Solovei hit a double, a single and scored three runs for 14-8 Brewer, which kept its slim playoff hopes alive with the victory. Greg Crossman added two singles and an RBI.

Joe Viselli led 3-19 Sherman Bros. with two singles and a double. Shirl Penney drove in three runs with a triple and a single.
