ROCKPORT — An evening of Celtic music to benefit the Rockport Garden Club town beautification programs and the restoration project of the Rockport Opera House will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at the Rockport Opera House.

Performing new and traditional instrumentals and vocals of Maine and the British Isles is the Rockport-based group Any Monday, featuring Jim Lea, Nick Apollonio, Kristin Tescher and Susan Silver.

As longtime pets of the Garden Club, the 1892 Opera House and village plantings, including park maintenance projects, present an annual challenge to club members, as costs rise and replacements are deemed necessary.

Midcoast businesses that have provided sponsorship for the benefit concert include Camden National Bank, MBNA America, Shaw’s Supermarket, Stichery Square, The Samoset Resort, Down East Magazine, and Rockport Boosters Club. Community individuals also have donated for the concert.

Tickets for the Any Monday concert are $8, available by mail from the club at Box 784, Rockport 04856; at the Rockport Town Office; and at Wild Rufus on Sharp’s Wharf in Camden.
