Chris Ferraro leads U.S. to 10-5 win

HUDDINGE, Sweden – The U.S. national hockey team, led by Chris Ferraro’s goal and five assists, beat Huddinge of Sweden 10-5 Wednesday night in an exhibition game.

Ferraro, a forward for the University of Maine who is property of the NHL’s New York Rangers, helped the United States raise its record to 4-1 on its 11-game European trip aimed at preparing the team for the 1994 Winter Olympics.

Right wing Todd Marchant and defenseman Barry Richter had two goals apiece for the U.S. squad.

“Once again, our speed created offense and plenty of goals so we were able to dominate this game from the start,” U.S. Coach Tim Taylor said. “But I have to admit that allowing five goals is a bit disconcerting.”

The Americans will play HV-71 Thursday night in Jonkoping, Sweden.
