PRESQUE ISLE — The Aroostook Medical Center’s Hematology-Oncology Clinic (tumor clinic) will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, at Gould Memorial Hospital.

The clinic is located in the new medical office building at the hospital. Information on colon, lung, and breast cancer as well as other primary sites will be displayed. Clinic staff will be available for tours and to answer questions. Refreshments will be served.

The public may use the main hospital entrance, proceed downstairs and follow the signs to the clinic.

The clinic was located in the Pinkham Wing at the hospital and moved into the medical office building last January. The relocation has allowed more patient privacy, a larger treatment room, additional examination rooms and a larger waiting area, according to hospital officials.

A patio addition is planned for patients, and art work from the Gould Art Loan Program is displayed in the clinic area.

Dr. Ronald Rohe, TAMC oncologist and hematologist, treats about 50 patients each week at the clinic. He also offers clinics at Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent and Cary Medical Center in Caribou, treating about 20 patients a week at each facility.

The clinic is staffed by Rohe; Anne Poliquin, family nurse practitioner; Joyce Davis, registered nurse; and Anita Blackstone, clinic coordinator.
