Search continues for fisherman

BOSTON — The Coast Guard searched for a missing member of a fishing boat’s crew Sunday after plucking two others out of the Atlantic Ocean about 50 miles northeast of Provincetown.

Two fishing boats relayed a distress signal from the 71-foot Sea Bring at 2 p.m. The Portland, Maine-based boat reported that it was sinking about 50 miles northeast of Provincetown.

A Coast Guard plane and a helicopter found two crew members in the water. They were taken to the Coast Guard’s air station on Cape Cod. They were in good condition and released Sunday evening, Ensign Nick Koester said.

Three Coast Guard cutters, along with some commercial fishing boats, searched for the third member Sunday evening.

Koester said the Coast Guard would not release the three crew members’ identities. No one else was on board.
