NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Mary Lou Winstel posted her record eighth shutout of the year and the University of Maine field hockey team reached double figures in wins for the first time since 1986 Tuesday as the Black Bears downed Yale 1-0 here.

Michelle Gallan scored the game-winner for the 10-2 Black Bears at 32:13 of the second half.

Winstel, a junior, established a UMaine single-season record for shutouts, making seven saves on nine shots. Winstel also holds the career shutout mark with 20.

Jannelle Kellman made four saves on 10 shots for 2-6 Yale.
